Leather Bag
Leather is naturally porous and absorbs grease, oil, and dust over time. Regular, gentle cleaning prevents dirt from setting in and dulling the surface.
- Always start with clean, dry hands — skin oils transfer directly onto leather.
- Do a quick wipe-down every few days with a soft, dry cloth to remove surface dust.
- For deeper cleaning, apply a small amount of leather cleaner to a clean cloth — never directly onto the bag.
- Wipe gently in small circular motions, then buff with a dry towel.
- For stitching and corners, use a soft-bristle brush to lift trapped dirt.
Condition
& Nourish
Think of conditioning as moisturizer for your bag. Leather naturally loses its oils over time, especially in dry climates. Conditioning restores suppleness and prevents cracking — and it deepens the character of genuine leather beautifully.
- Clean the bag first before conditioning — never apply conditioner to a dirty surface.
- Apply a small amount of leather conditioner to a soft cloth.
- Work it in evenly with light, circular motions across all surfaces.
- Don't forget the handles, strap, and seams — these areas flex the most.
- Let the conditioner absorb for at least 30 minutes, then buff lightly with a clean dry cloth.
- Repeat every 3–6 months, or whenever the leather starts to feel dry or stiff.
Store It
Properly
How you store your leather bag between uses matters just as much as how you clean it. Proper storage preserves the shape, color, and texture of your bag for years to come.
- Always store your bag upright — never crush it under other items or fold it flat.
- Stuff the interior with bubble wrap or tissue paper to help it hold its shape.
- Place it inside a breathable dust bag or clean pillowcase — never in plastic, which traps moisture.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources, which fade and dry out leather.
- If your bag gets wet, wipe it dry immediately with a soft cloth and let it air-dry naturally. Never use a hairdryer or place it near a heater.
- Avoid hanging bags by their straps for long periods — this stretches and weakens the strap over time.
